Synopsis
The pale, mellow moon reveals ancient Babylon--Natives are gathering for the festivity. With loud greetings and laughter they join in a dance—Flaring trumpets herald the approach of the King who has come to look upon the revelry—The appearance of the beautiful Queen is a signal for quiet homage of her subjects who adore her—The King commands that the dance continue—Again the merriment resounds—Trumpets announce the departure of the King and Queen who smilingly bids farewell—The crowd disperses; Babylon again is quiet but for the distant bells that chime the hour.
