Notes
As in "Beautiful Araby" and other songs, the western man longs for his eastern love.

Once again, a "temple" is the scene of their tryst; it is not known whether this is the "Aida-factor" or the misplaced Indian temple trope. At least here there are no bells ringing.

In the Chorus the rhyming of "Cairo" with "I know" and "you know" is notable.
Lyrics

In a land far far away
Where the gentle palm trees sway,
There 'neath the tropical moon,
I love to sit by the temple and spoon,
And although you're far away,
These memories will always stay.

CHORUS:

Egyptian Rose, each petal knows
I dream of you both night and day,
When I saw you in Cairo
You know and I know
You stole my heart away.
I long to see the love-light shining
In your eyes, for my heart is pining,
Some day I'll come back to you,
For my heart is true,
My Egyptian Rose.

In my dreams I now recall
Happy days I spent with you,
Then as we'd float down the Nile
Songs of love we'll keep singing all the while,
Cheer up, dear, and don't feel blue,
My heart is always with you, dear.
