"Kyro" no doubt is intended as an alternative spelling for "Cairo."

In the first verse there are several disjunctures in the lyrics: "Your lips look sweet to me, Tho' it leads to the sea... " and "For life is sweet to Thee And more your [you're?] sweet to me."
In the second verse the paddling on the Nile leads to a bay, then the sea and liberty. Does the speaker plan on taking his "Egypt bride" west to Europe or America?
